General Terms & Conditions of Business
for Public Seminars / Online-Trainings
Release 09/2023
All our prices are quoted plus statutory VAT for invoices within Germany.
This also applies to all other invoices, unless the reverse charge method is applied.
After your registration you will receive a confirmation and invoice from us. From 3 weeks before the seminar begins you will receive all further information (access data if necessary) for your seminar.
The invoice is due without deduction within 30 days after receipt or at the latest at the beginning of the respective seminar. For attendance seminars, the start of the seminar is deemed to be the start of the seminar on site, for online seminars the receipt of the access data, for Certified IFRS Specialist CA (CISCA) the dispatch of the first training letter and for Certified Management Accountant (CMA) the dispatch of the training documents.
Rebooking conditions for seminars:
- Rebooking is free up to three weeks before the seminar date.
- If registration is changed within three to one week before the seminar date, we will charge you 10% of the original seminar fee.
- If registration is changed within one week before the seminar date, we will charge you 20% of the original seminar fee.
Cancellation conditions for seminars:
- Cancellation is free up to three weeks before the seminar date.
- If registration is cancelled within three to one week before the seminar date, we will charge you 30% of the original seminar fee.
- If registration is cancelled within one week before the seminar date, after the seminar has begun or in case of no show, we will charge you 100% of the original seminar fee.
Special conditions for the seminar start:
Rebooking / cancellation of online seminars: The seminar start is the day on which the access data is received or the day from which access to the booked seminar was made available in our CAonAir training platform. From then on the full participation fee will be retained in case of cancellation or rebooking.
Cancellation of Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) All Inclusive Package: The seminar start is the day on which the access data for the Becker CMA® Review Advantage Package is received. From then on the full package fee will be retained in case of cancellation.
Booking of hotel accommodation:
Usually you have to book a hotel room yourself if you need accommodation for a seminar. For seminars lasting several days, we have reserved room contingents in the respective hotels or in contract hotels in the surrounding area, which you can refer to when booking a room. Please note that the contingents are limited in time. We have not reserved any room contingents for one-day seminars.
Deviating from this applies to all our seminars at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Starnberg, Hotel Residence Starnberger See in Feldafing and the IHK Akademie in Feldkirchen-Westerham: Here we book a single room with half board for the duration of the seminar as standard with your seminar booking. Even if we make the booking, the hotel costs are under no condition included in the specified seminar price, but must be settled by the seminar participant directly with the hotel at the respective half board rate (overnight accommodation with breakfast and evening meal) quoted on our website. If hotel cancellation fees are incurred due to cancellation at short notice as a result of your rebooking/cancellation we must pass on these costs to you.
Please note: If you want to arrive before the seminar begins or stay longer at the hotel after the seminar, you would have to make these room reservations yourself at the hotels with reference to your seminar booking.
In order to minimise the aforementioned rebooking/cancellation fees we recommend Seminar cancellation insurance. Details of insurance offered by us are included on the registration form for every seminar date.
In case of complaints in connection with the insurance agency, you can contact the „Versicherungsombudsman e.V.“ (arbitration board):

Lunch, snacks, seminar drinks and detailed seminar documentation are included in the seminar price for ALL our seminars (except Online Trainings).
Certificate of Participation: Please note that we shall only issue a Certificate of Participation in the case of full seminar attendance by the participant.
Your registration data will be included in the participants list of the seminar for which you have registered. Only the participants of the respective seminar shall receive this participants list. If you object, you must notify us of such in advance.
Lecturers Generally: The names of our seminar lecturers are known. However, in exceptional cases (e.g. illness) we reserve the right to replace lecturers.
Seminar cancellation by us: Should we be obliged to cancel a seminar, for instance, due the illness on the part of the lecturer or insufficient seminar participants, we regret that we are unable to refund any costs (e.g. cancellation fees for tickets already booked for travel). In such cases any seminar fees already paid shall of course be refunded in full.
General information requirement according to Section 36 VBSG and Art. 14 ODR-VO / Consumer Dispute Settlement Act:
The European Commission provides a platform for out-of-court online dispute settlements (OS platform), which can be accessed at www.ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Our email address can be found in our imprint. We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in the dispute settlement procedure.
